Paddle & Portage provides the kayaks and gear needed for an enjoyable trip on the Kootenay River. Our kayak fleet is made up of single, sit-inside, recreational kayaks that are designed for roominess and stability.

Our shuttle service will pick you up at the rendezvous point and deliver you to the launch site. At the end of your trip we will pick you up and return you to the rendezvous point.

Located in a working cherry orchard, The Orchard Barn (circa 1920), made of hand-hewn logs, was lovingly restored into a one-of-a-kind studio and gallery. Enjoy the artwork, gourds, weaving, beeswax candles, honey, soaps and lotions, cherries and peaches in season. Go on an orchard tour, or just sit in the barnyard with a cup of coffee.

While in Creston, be sure to visit the "Stone House" Museum, located near the shopping mall. The museum grounds are filled with fascinating remnants of the past. Outside, investigate a trapper's cabin and turn-of-the-century schoolhouse, pose for a photograph in front of an historic steam locomotive, and examine early farm machinery.

The Creston Valley Wildlife Management Area is one of British Columbia's most productive ecosystems. Home, restaurant and nursery to birds, mammals, reptiles, invertebrates and fish alike, this wondrous wetland celebrates its 31st year as a recognized habitat of biological importance.
